MR NUSANTARA: CELEBRATING MALE TALENT FROM SINGAPORE, INDONESIA & MALAYSIA 29 MAY!
THE inaugural MR NUSANTARA, a groundbreaking male pageant uniting contestants from Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, commenced its journey on Monday, May 26th, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur.
This unique competition, presented by international talent and event agency Beam Artistes, is set to culminate in a grand finale on Thursday, May 29th, promising a dazzling display of regional heritage, style, and talent.
Future editions are anticipated to include other nations from the Nusantara region.
Thirty-six delegates are currently vying for both national and regional honors on a single stage.
Malaysia and Singapore are each represented by 15 contestants, while Indonesia has six delegates participating.
The organizers expressed gratitude that despite "unfortunate circumstances" involving an Indonesian agency, which led to a reduction from the initially planned seven Indonesian participants, a dedicated group from Indonesia still managed to join the competition.
Samuel Seow, CEO of Beam Artistes and founder of MR NUSANTARA, underscored the event's significance during his welcome address at the delegates' sashing ceremony and press conference held at Centrestage in Sungei Wang Plaza.
"MR NUSANTARA is more than just a competition – it is a celebration of shared heritage and unity across the region," Seow affirmed.
He also candidly acknowledged the organizational hurdles faced, mirroring the challenges the region itself has overcome, stating, "Just as the region has faced significant challenges in the past, the first Mr Nusantara has also faced and braved its challenges."
He further added, "The format of the competition had to be changed too but like they say, 'The show must go on.’"
The pageant week, which began with the delegates' arrival, is being meticulously run based on international pageant criteria.
From the 36 candidates, one delegate from each participating nation will be crowned MR SINGAPORE NUSANTARA 2025, MR INDONESIA NUSANTARA 2025, and MR MALAYSIA NUSANTARA 2025.
In an innovative twist, the ultimate title of MR NUSANTARA CHAMPION will be determined entirely by online voting, marking a pioneering approach that fully empowers fans in shaping the final outcome.
The stakes are substantial, with the winner of MR NUSANTARA set to receive a prize package valued at USD 80,000, including cash and a brand-new car.
The grand finals of MR NUSANTARA 2025 are scheduled to take place at the elegant Galaxy Banquet Hall @ HGH Convention Centre in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, where guests will be treated to a selection of delicious Malaysian cuisine.
Adding to the excitement, popular Malaysian girl group DOLLA is slated to deliver a special performance during the grand finale.
