And for that reason, when received a personal invitation to attend an event showcasing Belcolade’s commitment to excellence in chocolate craftsmanship, highlighting its dedication to sustainability through the Cacao-Trace program, Kak Fas accepted the invite though still vaque considering what is Belcolade all about?

And Becolade recently held a magical chocolate tasting experience with more than 80 guests’ attendance, including His Excellency Peter Van Acker, Ambassador of Belgium to Malaysia,  whom officiated this one-of-a-kind chocolate appreciation event, held at Colony@Star Boulevard, Kuala Lumpur.

Also present are Sandy Shiek, Marketing Director or Puratos Malaysia, Singapore & Brunei; Luc-Olivier Rahier, Product Manager of Real Chocolate, Puratos Belgium and Gautron Mathias, Chef Pâtissier DĂ©monstrateur of Puratos France along with the Puratos Malaysia’s chefs.

The guests were welcomed with arrays of refreshment, made with Puratos’s range of Bakery items and hand-crafted Real Belgian Citrus Fromage shots.

One of the key highlights of the program was the astonishment of the official launch of Belcolade’s new branding via the percussion LED drum play. 

Up next was the sharing session led by Luc-Olivier Rahier where he shared on Belcolade’s product range, especially on how it’s interlinked to The Cacao-Trace Sustainable Cocoa program, 'Great Taste, Doing Good'.

According to him, the Cacao-Trace chocolate takes taste to a whole new level of excellence thanks to a unique fermentation process that guarantees the best cocoa quality and enhances the flavors of every chocolate drop. 

“Doing Good is our focus so Cacao-Trace farmers benefit from the value they create. Our unique Chocolate Bonus and Quality Premium result in life changing impact for our cocoa farmers,” he added.

Belgian chocolate enjoys an extraordinary reputation in the world. 

For Puratos, chocolate has always been a passion. It was a clear choice to cherish the Belgian tradition of manufacturing chocolate and to invest in producing chocolate in Belgium even when its products are sold in over 100 countries in the world. 

Alongside these impactful sustainable initiatives on the cocoa supply chain, Belcolade is the first carbon-neutral Belgian chocolate factory, operating on 100% renewable electricity, eliminating the need for fossil fuels. 

Thanks to extensive underground rainwater storage, it will source 90% of its water from collected rainwater.

Belcolade has made substantial investments to enhance their energy efficiency, reliability, and resilience against droughts by revamping all technical energy installations, storage, and distribution. 

Thanks to heat recovery and the utilization of cutting-edge heat pump technology, Belcolade's heat production process now consumes five times less energy than before. 

Alongside these impactful sustainable initiatives, Belcolade’s new 100% recycle-ready packaging reflects the company’s determination to reduce its environmental footprint and make a positive impact on the planet. 

In addition to its commitment to sustainability, Belcolade is a brand meticulously crafted by professionals, for professionals. 

The product creations are born from collaborative efforts, crafted alongside chocolatiers, pastry chefs and bakers who remain attuned to the latest consumer trends. 

Indeed, Belcolade stands for real Belgian chocolate, which is a unique combination of taste, processing and creativity, all produced in Belgium with the greatest respect for the chocolate making tradition and with an everlasting passion for the product. 

There were various chocolatepairing patisserie, pralines and bon bons, presented by Gautron Mathias, with Puratos Malaysia’s chefs. 

During the tasting session, one of the awe-inspiringly Combawa Praline was presented. 

It consists with a blend of Belcolade’s M. Plant-Based Cacao-Trace (milk-alike plant-based Belgian chocolate), Belcolade Selection Lait Cacao-Trace Chocolate and a hint of Kaffir lime that indulgenced many guests. 

Belcolade combines sensory expertise and sustainability to craft quality products that drive the customers' success while securing a sustainable future for generations to come. 

“While taste remains the primary purchasing criterion for consumers, the sustainability of the chocolate is a key differentiating factor for their purchase with 68% of respondents interested in food products coming from sustainable farming methods. The Cacao-Trace Sustainable Program is a testament of our commitment to taste and sustainability”, remarks Sandy Shiek during her speech.
