CHINA (SHANDONG) - MALAYSIA EXPO SET TO BOOST BILATERAL TRADE & INVESTMENT!

MOMENTUM
is building for the upcoming China (Shandong)–Malaysia Brands Exhibition & Trade Fair, as key details of the cross-border showcase were unveiled during a press conference held at the Qilu Chamber of BusinessWisma MCA, signalling strong commitment from both sides to deepen economic collaboration.

The three-day exhibition, set to take place from May 22 to 24 at IOI City Mall, is expected to bring together around 100 leading enterprises from China’s Shandong Province, alongside approximately 260 business delegates, in what is seen as a significant platform to accelerate bilateral trade and investment engagement.

Organised under the guidance of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, the expo reflects continued progress following the official visit of Lin WuSecretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, to Malaysia in September 2026, where both sides reached a series of agreements aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties.

Speakers at the press conference highlighted the exhibition’s role as a high-impact gateway for businesses to explore new partnerships and market access opportunities.

Among those present were Wang Dawei, General Director of the China-SCO Sci-Tech Innovation Cooperation Malaysia Center; Li Cheng, General Manager of Lanhua Group Southeast Asia; Winnie Ng, Head of Culture and Tourism at the Malaysia Center of the China-SCO Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Center and Feng Canmou, Head of the Halal Food Festival at the exhibition and Vice President of the Xinjiang Chamber of Commerce.

The event will showcase Shandong’s industrial strengths across sectors such as equipment manufacturing, modern agriculture, new energy, advanced materials, food production and premium consumer goods, while at the same time, Malaysian companies are presented with opportunities to position their specialty products for entry into the Shandong and wider China markets.

Industry observers note that Malaysia and China have long maintained robust economic ties, with Shandong emerging as one of China’s key economic powerhouses. The upcomg exhibition is expected to further deepen these relations by facilitating new partnerships, enhancing trade flows and encouraging investment across strategic sectors.

Beyond business networking, the exhibition also opens its doors to the public, offering a vibrant mix of product showcases, cultural displays and interactive experiences.

Visitors can look forward to a lucky draw, while the first 300 attendees each day will receive complimentary gifts,  adding to the event’s appeal.

The exhibition is jointly organised by the Malaysia Shandong Qilu Chamber of Business and the China–SCO Sci-Tech Innovation Cooperation Center (Malaysia), with cooperation from Shandong Lanhua Group and the MCA PRC Affairs & Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Committee, and supported by major industry bodies including the Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) and the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC).

As the three-day event unfolds, organisers are optimistic that it will set a new benchmark for regional trade exhibitions, while contributing to the broader vision of the Belt and Road Initiative and fostering a closer China–Malaysia economic partnership.
