800 STUDENTS BENEFIT FROM ERM FOUNDATION-BACKED 'CERIA KE SEKOLAH' PROGRAMME!
'THE Ceria Ke Sekolah' programme was launched in the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency, benefiting 800 students, particularly children from underprivileged families, as they prepare to begin the new school session.
Speaking at the launch event, Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak. Dato Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said the programme reflected a shared commitment by the government, corporate partners and the community to ensure inclusive access to education.
She expressed appreciation to ERM Foundation, the main sponsor of the initiative, for its generosity and continued support, describing the foundation’s contribution as a meaningful investment in human capital development and the education of the younger generation.
“ERM Foundation’s involvement reflects a balanced and responsible approach to corporate social responsibility, with a strong focus on nurturing our future generation through education,” she said at the launch of ‘Ceria Ke Sekolah Bersama ERM” held at Palace of the Golden Horses, Sunday morning, 4th January 2026.

Continuing her speech, Dr. Wan Azizah also stressed that students remain the core focus of the initiative. “Above all, our students are the heart of this programme,” she said.
Dr Wan Azizah noted that the 'Ceria Ke Sekolah' programme aims to ease the financial burden on B40 families by providing essential school supplies such as uniforms, stationery and school bags.
Beyond material assistance, she said the initiative helps strengthen students’ confidence and motivation to attend school, while reducing the risk of dropout caused by financial constraints.
“We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for our youth. By investing in learning, we empower a new generation to become more skilled, more patriotic, and more empathetic citizens.” said Dr. Wan Azizah, adding that the success of the programme was the result of close cooperation among the Ministry of Education, the District Education Office (PPD), school administrators and teachers.
Highlighting national priorities, she said education continues to be a key pillar under the Malaysia MADANI administration led by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
She pointed out that RM66.2 billion has been allocated to the Ministry of Education under the 2026 Budget, reflecting the government’s belief that education is fundamental to building a skilled, patriotic and empathetic society.
‘We want no one to be left behind, especially in the spirit of the National Agenda, Malaysia MADANI. To the beloved students, I urge you to stay focused on your education and embrace every chance to grow your talents. Be resilient in the face of challenges. Always respect your teachers and uphold the highest standards of conduct and character,” added the Prime Minister’s wife.
Also speaking at the event, Azman Abidin echoed the message, reminding students that education is the most valuable investment for their future.
“Success requires discipline, sacrifice and hard work. When you succeed one day, remember to extend a helping hand to others and continue the cycle of kindness,” he added.
On behalf of the beneficiaries and the community, he recorded his sincere appreciation to ERM Foundation for sponsoring and delivering the contributions, while also thanking organisers, agencies, sponsors and volunteers for ensuring the programme was implemented smoothly.
“This initiative helps parents provide basic school necessities and, at the same time, fosters a culture of compassion and shared responsibility within the community,” he said, adding that such programmes are especially important in the current economic climate as they complement government efforts to ensure no child is left behind due to financial hardship.
Azman also highlighted ongoing government education assistance under the Malaysia MADANI agenda.
He said more than five million students nationwide will receive the Early Schooling Assistance (Bantuan Awal Persekolahan, BAP) of RM150 per student beginning 11 January 2026, covering Malaysian citizens from Year 1 to Form 5.
In addition, he said the government continues to implement education support programmes such as the School Supplementary Food Programme (RMT), special education assistance and uniform aid, with annual allocations exceeding RM2 billion.
Azman expressed hope that the foundation would continue to collaborate on future initiatives that deliver long-term impact through education, community empowerment and socio-economic development.
Meanwhile. sharing her comments with the media, Xiner Li, who is currently studying in London remains deeply committed to social welfare in Malaysia.
Despite her young age and the distance Xiner whose family hails from China expressed her hope that the programme would not be a one-time off event.
“A total of RM240,000 was spent to ensure the 800 students in Bandar Tun Razak were fully equippd for their studies,” said Xiner who intends to make ‘Ceria Ke Sekolah’ an annual programme with a vision to provide consistent, long-term support to students, ensuring that financial barriers never stand in the way of a child's potential to learn and grow.
The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all parties involved and well wishes for the students as they return to school, with hopes that the initiative will bring lasting benefits to families and the wider community.
