'AI BUILD & INTERIORS CONNECT 2026' SHOWCASES THE NEXT GENERATION OF SMART SPACES!


ARTIFICIAL intelligence (AI)
is set to become a key catalyst in transforming the construction, interior design and smart living sectors as industry players explore more efficient, innovative and future-ready solutions.


This shift took centre stage at the inaugural AI Build & Interiors Connect 2026, which officially opened recently at CityStage @ KL City Walk, Kuala Lumpur, bringing together more than 18 curated businesses and industry professionals from various sectors.


The three-day showcase serves as a platform connecting construction players, architects, interior designers, smart technology providers, entrepreneurs and consumers to explore how AI can be applied in developing modern workspaces, homes and urban environments.


Founder of CityStage KLCC and showcase co-organiser Dennis Choy in his welcoming address said, AI Build & Interiors Connect 2026 was more than just an exhibition, as it aimed to bring together ideas, technology and collaboration opportunities within the built environment industry.


“Our intention is to create networking and business collaboration opportunities, and 

provide a marketplace for brands, suppliers, and service providers, for their business growth,” said Choy.


He further said, the event was created to encourage knowledge sharing through industry discussions and panel sessions while connecting players from the construction, interior and smart living sectors.


“Our aim is to promote knowledge sharing through industry discussions and panels, while connecting the construction, interior, and smart living industry players,” he added.


Throughout the showcase, visitors had the opportunity to discover future-ready technologies, explore emerging industry trends and gain insights from experts through exhibitions, AI-IN-ACTION sessions and interactive discussions focusing on the future of built spaces.

One of the highlights was the keynote session by award-winning architect and former President of Persatuan Arkitek Malaysia (PAM), Ar. Sarly Adre Sarkum, who shared his insights on the role of architects in the age of AI and its relevance to the Fourth Industrial Revolution.


Ar. Sarly, who is also Chief Architecturalist of [SA]² – Sarly Adre Sarkum Architecture Sdn Bhd, discussed how AI technology could influence the design process, creativity and new approaches in shaping the built environment.


Also featured as a keynote speaker was AI transformation advisor and Chief Executive Officer of Futureverse Technologies, Rajiv Mathew, who highlighted the importance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector to adapt to AI-driven transformation.


With more than 20 years of experience in consulting and digital transformation, Rajiv shared insights on adopting AI strategies to improve efficiency and productivity within organisations.


The much awaited forum talks and panel discussions during the engaging showcase expounded on various topics on the use of AI in the industry. The highly impactful showcase also gave direct access to founders and key decision-makers to attendees.


The showcase also featured more than 20 distinguished speakers covering a wide range of topics including Healing Architecture and Emotional Wellbeing, The Future Home as a Healing Environment, AI Digitalisation in Real Estate and Construction and Small Team, Big Delivery - How AI Helped Us Deliver a Public Sector Pilot Project.



There were also five panel sessions that discussed such topics as  AI & Productivity for SMEs, The Future of Human-Centered Living and Smart Buildings, Smarter Futures:AI, Robotics, Industry 5.0 and Digital Security, among others.


Beyond knowledge sharing, visitors were also treated to AI-IN-ACTION demonstrations and live performances throughout the event.


The impactful AI Build & Interiors Connect 2026 event attracted a diverse group of participants including industry professionals, SME business owners, entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, decision-makers and members of the media who recognised the growing potential of AI in shaping the future of the built environment.
