Press Release:
SUBANG JAYA – By The Billions (BTB), the experiential mobility and outdoor platform, has officially announced that its flagship event, ‘Malayan Expedition (MX)’ 2026, has fully sold out across all 4x4 categories.
Mobilizing over 200 participants into Pahang’s interior from September 13 to 18, 2026, the expedition is set to deliver significant socio-economic value to rural communities along the Tembeling River basin while setting new standards for eco-tourism.
Marking a major milestone at a press conference at PARC, Subang Jaya recently, BTB formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘Enggang Management Services’ (EMS) and the ‘Al-Sultan Abdullah Royal Tiger Reserve’ (ASARTR).
The strategic partnership establishes a joint Habitat Enrichment Project, shifting the narrative of off-road expeditions "From Exploration to Impact" in support of national sustainability goals ahead of Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
By routing through historical wilderness corridors and engaging local homestays, boatmen, and village cooperatives along the Tembeling River, MX2026 generates direct, sustainable economic growth for inland residents.
"Overland tourism isn't just about traversing remote terrain; it’s about creating an economic bridge between urban enthusiasts and inland rural settlements," said Nedree Mohd Nazlan, Founder of By The Billions.

"By procuring tree saplings, supplies, and services directly from local villagers along the Tembeling River, we are demonstrating how responsible mobility can drive tangible rural development and environmental stewardship," he added.
The public festivities begin with the Adventure Festival on September 12 at PARC, Subang Jaya, followed by the official expedition flag-off on September 13 as the convoy heads east toward Pahang's backcountry, concluding in Cherating on September 18.
To ensure maximum safety, operational excellence, and minimal trail disruption across the 630-kilometer route, participating vehicles and field operations undergo mandatory technical inspections.
Overall event execution is supported by a premier coalition of brand partners, spearheaded by main presenting sponsor GWM and official lubricant partner Grantt Lubricants, alongside core technical equipment partners including BFGoodrich, Alpaka Gear, Victron Energy, Pedders Malaysia, Red Springs Overland, Tough Dog Suspension Malaysia, and ANBOT.
Comprehensive sweep, medical, and mobile recovery networks will maintain convoy integrity and safety throughout the 6-day, 5-night expedition.
High-Level Stakeholder & Partner Sign-Off
The official press conference and MoU signing were anchored by key leadership from both conservation and automotive partners.
Enggang Management Services (EMS) was represented by Chief Executive Officer Haji Halmi Hassan and Project Finance Manager Christabel Koh, who formalized the strategic tiger habitat partnership alongside By The Billions.
Solidifying industry backing for the expedition, main presenting sponsor GWM was represented by Managing Director of Commercial Operations Stan Li Hao and Chief Operating Officer En. Roslan Abdullah, while official lubricant partner UMW Grantt Lubricants was represented by Head of Sales & Marketing Division Yee Chun Lung.
Their collective presence underlines a shared commitment to elevating Malaysia's outdoor lifestyle ecosystem through responsible mobility, technical excellence, and long-term environmental stewardship.
Key Pillars of the ASARTR Habitat Enrichment Project (Sept 2026 – Sept 2027):
- Targeted Species Protection: Direct ecological support for the habitat of the endangered Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni).
- Fig Tree Procurement & Planting: BTB will procure a minimum of 500 fig trees (Ficus sp.) saplings to enrich biodiversity and bolster the local prey base.
- Local Livelihood Support: All saplings will be purchased directly from the ASARTR Central Nursery in Kampung Mat Daling, Pahang, ensuring direct income for local village nurseries.
- 12-Month Audited Monitoring: BTB field teams will conduct a year-long growth tracking and care program—replacing non-surviving saplings—before handing detailed environmental records to ASARTR.
- Zero New Trail Disturbance: Convoys will strictly utilize permitted pre-existing logging roads under Jerantut District Forestry Department oversight, avoiding forest fragmentation.
Looking Ahead: Expanding the Ecosystem with the MX Overland Series 2027
Building on the success of its flagship event, ByTheBillions officially unveiled the MX Overland Series 2027, redefining overlanding as a self-reliant adventure travel experience where the journey itself takes precedence over the destination.
Designed as a 5-Day, 4-Night on-road and backcountry adventure, the 2027 series will showcase rural Malaysia’s deep cultural heritage and local customs through a community-driven lens.
Spanning both West and East Malaysia, the expanded ecosystem will feature two premier routes: Langkawi Overland and Borneo Overland, setting a new benchmark for experiential mobility, regional economic activation, and cross-border outdoor exploration.
